I know not many people will see this, but Im going to post it here for you select few.
I have a small group in discord of about 8-9 people from my Twisted Metal Black Online Community. I was thinking of running a TDM event for them as it is the format of what they are used to on TMBO and I was thinking that would be the best way to get them interested. Of course this is going to take a major set of house rules, but I figured I would pass it by you guys and see what you think.
You guys are also invited if interested.
But alas, here was my idea.
D12 vehicles
In an actual 4v4 scenario each team to have one big dog, maybe a D16 vehicle.
Everyone must use a different livery to distinguish team mates.
Scoring would be done by combining team kills or score.
Bans are on Bloxdropper and Mines.
If you have any suggestions for a better balance and fun game let me know.
I would like to do a last man standing rule set, but that might be hard to enforce.
P.s. Light is it alright if I link the car builder and this website in my discord and youtube when I start recording?

Re: TDM event
Feel free to link the car designer.
As far as your rules, you may want to keep it *REAL* simple for your first couple events.
Oddball divisions and random weapon restrictions aren't where I'd start. I'd pick the lowest AVA division with the easiest setups and work my way up.
There are only so many weapons that are available for D5 cars (.30, .30 turret, .50, Ball 'O Flame, all three gas launchers and/or all the droppers except mines and caltrops) and there are NO cars over Base 20...so there's your leveled playing field.
(As soon as you hit D7.5 it's possible to run into a can opener with (2) 7.62's...)
Then, simply set up a combat session with "Team Play" and decide who's on what team prior to joining...
...or don't! I'm not your mom.

Re: TDM event
Hmm. The only reason I thought to ban the blox and Mines was I read somewhere they cause massive lag.
Whether that is true or not for your server is beyond me.

Re: TDM event
Mines might cause massive sound bugs without the audio fix-ish, but not lag
Bring water to a boil. Lightly salt and oil. Add pasta. Cook until al dente...

Re: TDM event
It's not 1998 and I hope you're not on a modem...if that's the case you'll still have lag. If not, welcome to the 21st century and broadband...
What you should be worried about is the 2000 rounds of fire that people will drop without letting off the trigger so it goes invisible before it dissipates or has three linked like-type weapons and then claims it isn't cheese...those are the kind of things that ruin games, not object lag.
Anyway, it's always best to do your fact checking with us. Our information is typically more current, more accurate and usually filtered to a point that most people can follow along. It's not like the site is 17 years old with message board data running back 12 and has absorbed Suicyco's Speed Shop, The AVA and the map and skin sites.
..or don't.
It's your rules, you make them up as you like.
