Figuring out a name for the Legacy was easy, I just used a synonym. Impreza is a bit tougher because its not really a word, its a Japanese slang for "Party" and I don't think there is a direct Japanese word equivalent. Besides, most Japanese cars that sell on the world market do not use proper Japanese words/names. So I just made a name up out of a twisting the word Amaze around. REx comes from that a lot of Subaru owners refer to the WRX as a Rex. RE stands for Rally Engineered, x just fills out the name. I considered calling an Outback a Dundee but gah to that. X.X I'm just calling it Outback for now, since I have no idea what else to call it.

Here is some info on the history of Subaru for everyone else.

Subaru is a Japanese word meaning "unite." It is also a term identifying the Pleiades star cluster in the constellation Taurus that includes six stars visible to the average eye. According to Greek mythology, Atlas' daughters turned into this group of stars.

In 1953, five Japanese companies merged to form Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. The new corporation adopted the "Subaru" cluster of stars as its official logo for its line of automobiles. Today, Fuji Heavy Industries is a global transportation conglomerate.

How about Partae?
The funny thing about Subaru is that it's synonymys with AMC because it didn't do very well selling regular cars so they decided to start selling four wheel drive cars. In fact Subaru started selling four wheel drive cars just before AMC did, though they weren't made very well. Then again, neither were the Eagles. -_-

Mutsuraboshi sounds a bit close to Mitsubishi for me to read it as a Subaru replacement, though.

Mutsuraboshi is more relevant to Subaru though since it is a word used in ancient Japan to refer to the same star cluster as Subaru. (Pleadies)

Subaru could also be Nakajima. Nakajima aircraft manufactured the Zero fighter plane during WWII, after the war, Nakajima became Fuji Heavy Industries and Subaru was created. The Subaru emblem represents the five major branches of Fuji Heavy, the brightest star in the emlbem is Subaru.

Mitsubishi could be replaced with another of the Japanese house names that game out of the Meiji era, which Mitsubishi was one of. Sumitomo, a modern tire manufacture is another example of a Japanese house that became a modern corporation.

Could call the Outback the Badlands *Shrug*

Well, I just read the "guidelines" but still stick with Badlands as the Badlands could be considered America's Version of The Outback... or. Outback lite, as it were.

Hermes is the better choice to represent Mercury, being that Greek Mythology was the basis for the company name. and that the greek figure was the companies logo before that... weird thing they use now.

More so it fits the context of the company's styling and image, where as Quicksilver portrays a much "sportier" Image than what fits Mercury's image and styling. ( Mercury is also Referenced as Hermes in the Blood Under the Sun Story.)

Also. as to the Triumph as "Victory" referance, Victory is actually a Real american motorcycle company. http://www.polarisindustries.com/en-US/Victory/

Wow, so nobody has posted here in ten years? Crazy.

I wanted to add my two cents if anyone still writes any fanfiction regarding the game world. I've actually given it some consideration myself.

Anyway, one of my favourite cars (you're going to laugh) is the Edsel. So, I thought I'd make my own fictional equivelant (of course it is part of the Phaedra Motor Company, and would be a huge embarrassment for them, and they'd try their darndest to forget all about it before the 1970s even arrived)

New for 1958, the Eamon division of the Phaedra Motor Company -

The smaller platforms include the entry level Eamon Strider (Edsel Ranger) to the higher spec Eamon Clipper (Edsel Pacer)

The larger platforms include the Eamon Buccanner (Edsel Corsair) and the range-topping Eamon Advertence (Edsel Citation)

A range of wagons are also on offer, built on the contemporary Phaedra wheelbase. The range opens with the Eamon Corral (Edsel Roundup) as a two door wagon, and moves up to the mid-range Eamon Settler (Edsel Villager) and Eamon Aruba (Edsel Bermuda).

I think the game could have done with more 50s cars, especially since they added the Hearse and Medicar models with the nitro pack.

.......think I tried to kinda start a story when I was having a few drinks.. didn't get anywhere passed a few sentences about a car being in a garage or something..

Light' was working on a story years back but that kinda went south too but at least his went further than mine
