Turkey Shoot tonight!

Post by Wayek »

Turkey Shoot tonight! - what is a turkey shoot you ask? i6 Striders, no juice, 1 .30cal, no dropper Vs. an unlimited class Moth Tanker with a turret ...

will you catch the turkey? or will the turkey turn you into stuffing and shove you up your own ass?
tune in tomorrow to find out!

We usually do this every Thanksgiving but the last one was a little messy since people were a bit confused about the rules.

Rules are simple - We call <GO> twice .. first call is for the tanker and second call is for the chasers (eg. when <GO TURKEY> disappears JUST the Moth truck goes first, then when <GO CHASERS> disappears you all follow in pursuit of the Moth truck)

Striders will be locked with a D5 budget so build your cars wisely
Droppers will be banned (unless noted otherwise)
Certain weapons will be banned (unless noted otherwise)

In the past I'd typically allow the Ball O' Flame for the shooters and whatever the tanker wants to load out with...

...but this is not my event.

I'd be hip to giving this a try with you tomorrow if I don't end up at the cabin. Then again, there was a PC and a stick there last time I left.

Yeah, I can do it that way too .... I figure we'll probably have a few different weapon configurations throughout the night

use this to help you build your cars

http://www.interstate76.com/cardesigner/cardesigner.php

So, basically your options can go like this based on the D5 budget..Now let's talk a little about how to build a D5 Strider. You have a $5000 dollar limit to build your car

Your suspension, brakes and tires will be too damn expensive to do anything with so just leave them all at stock

Weapon choices - .30cal or .50cal machine gun (only .30cal can be turret, .50cal can't) Fire-Rite Rocket, all flamethrowers incl. Ball-o-Flame,

Special choices - either Heated Seats, Dashboard Mary or Cup Holders are recommended but you could really use anything as long as it fits your budget but you might be limiting yourself to only affording the .30cal - remember JUICE IS OFF LIMITS
(Heated Seats give you 10% more ammunition. Dashboard Mary adds 10% damage to each round fired, with a minimum damage increase of 1. Cup Holders reduce the probability of being hit by 10%.)

Nitrace will be running for this event so build your shooters accordingly

Turkey Shoots were hard to organize back when there were still Activision ANET servers and dozens of players...

Now, with the limited player pool and lack of interest in the forums it makes it nearly impossible.

It's hard to have people on the same page if they don't bother reading about the event.

Oh, it was plugged hard .... just a slower night I guess

and I thought it was going pretty good for the first few runs....

Next time if we try this I'll go with the more traditional way with nothing but .30cal turrets and oil slick and the Moth load master as the turkey -- too bad you can't ban radar jammers

It's real easy to ban them.

You just have to be OK with booting your friends from a dead game to make the point, though.

...oh, and if you don't choke the Loadmaster down there's no way the shooters can catch it unless the driver really, really sucks.

Hmmm... what would you suggest... Cargo?? j/k

the tanker can get some pace if you juice it but it seems to lose tires too easily ..
